UNGASS in the Philippines

NDBLeis

The Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC), in collaboration with Health Action Information Network (HAIN) and TLF-Share Collective, lead the UNGASS process with consultation from different key stakeholders. The process includes meetings with the Core Team, workshops, vetting, and PNAC plenary for the final approval of the report. Philippines is an archipelago and along the process, stakeholders are involved at different levels.

  1. UNGASS Team
    - Serves as the Technical Working and does the “dirty job” of tools preparation/enhancement, data collection and management, data analysis and interpretation by indicator, etc.
    - composed of the PNAC Secretariat, PNAC members, current and previous UNGASS writers
    - it also include those critically involved in the previous M&E project
    - This team will meet physically very often (e.g., twice a month and/or as the need arises)

  2. Pinoy UNGASS DGroup –
    - the larger group which should include ALL those involved in the 2003 ad 2005 UNGASS reporting
    - all partners from around the country especially those from the provinces
    - all NGOs, our partners in the region, etc. Most of the DGroup members will be invited to the national consultations e.g NCPI workshop, Vetting workshop, and national M&E dissemination.

  3. M&E Advisory Group –
    - group of M&E experts in the country which will ensure our M&E activities and PRODUCTS are sound, scientific and professionally prepared.
    - For 2007, they will serve as UNGASS Review Team (Experts’ Review).
    - They will review the UNGASS drafts and ensure that our data analysis and interpretation and our recommendations are understandable, correct, and valid

In addition, the Regional Support Team in Bangkok is also consulted in the process.
