Participants from cities of Angeles, Baguio, Dagupan, Laoag , San Fernando, La Union and Urdaneta were gathered for Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) Consultation last March 10, 2008 at Chalet Tepeyak, Baguio City. The consultation revisited the Angeles and Baguio Cities as M&E pilot sites and expanded to the last four cities.

This activity was organized by Health and Development Initiatives Institute (HDII), Health Action Information Network (HAIN) and Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) as part of the AMTPIV’s strategy to strengthen management systems of AIDS response.

Lecture discussion includes orientation on M & E, updates on CRIS indicators and presentation of UNGASS 2008 Country Progress Report. Participants were also divided into workshop sessions for assessment on the challenges encountered and planning of activities of Local AIDS Council.

Although each local unit have political dynamics, rapid administrative transition, lack of funds and limited manpower, the group commend initiatives and recognized that there is still a need to further strengthen the system by identifying schemes for monitoring output and impact, continuous coordination of reporting, meeting for projects, information dissemination and education to target groups and integrating other advocacy networks to join the campaign.
